Multiplayer Unreal VR Game Project
Unreal Engine 5, Oculus Quest, Networking. A VR Asymmetric Co-op Platformer, developed in C++ and Blueprinting.
Over/Under is a VR Asymmetric Co-op Platformer in which there are two players with two respective roles:
- The Runner is the player on the ground who is frantically trying to escape the deadly fog. They must do whatever it takes to get to the other side of the map to safety: run, climb, jump, grapple and catapult themselves away from danger. They can only succeed with the help of the Architect.
- The Architect plays from a godlike, bird’s-eye view of the map, benevolently guiding The Runner from above. They can place a variety of physics-based contraptions and structures to help the Runner overcome obstacles and navigate toward the finish.
In the Architect’s inventory there is only a limited set of physics-based contraptions and structures: ramps, seesaws, bridges, jungle gyms, swinging ropes, and even a human trebuchet. Timing is everything—if the monster catches the Runner, they’re crushed, and it’s game over!
The game is developed for Meta Quest 3 VR headsets, tethered to Windows PC’s. The development process took about 5 weeks with a team of 3 developers.
